I'm in LOVE...I mean LUST!

I had to post this cause it basically sums up why I love him so much. I mean..how cute is he??
That voice practically melts my heart. One husband requirement: must sing like Bruno ...just sayin!
I promise this will be my last obsessed, creepy, stalker Bruno post...at least for now! Enjoy

Happy Fathers day!!

This post is a tribute to my dad. The man who will always be my biggest fan. Who supports and loves me more than any one else. The man who's priesthood continually blesses our family and who's life is dedicated to the gospel. The man who is my greatest example. And the man who's hugs will always be the most comforting. There is nothing that compares to a daddy daughter relationship. I love you dad.

The BEST worst day of my life.

I'm not exactly sure how to start this post or if it will even do this day justice but its worth a shot. Sometimes I am shocked at the events that happen in my life. I have the weirdest luck. Actually its kind of terrible to be honest. I feel especially bad for my future husband and for anyone who ever rides in a vehicle with me. I seem to really have no luck when it comes to cars. This past weekend Brandon, Teres, baby bump Tovah and I attempted a road trip to Cali for the Bruno Mars concert. We had been looking forward to this trip for almost 2 months. If you know me you know I am slightly obsessed with the him! We had a fun, bonding, easy 3 hours in the car before this happened:

Tragic I know! My not even one year old Jetta was squished like a bug on the Highway going an easy 75 mph in the fast lane by a Toyota Tundra. All I can say is thank heavens Brandon was driving. It could have or maybe even should have been MUCH worse than it was. A huge blessing that no airbags went off and all 3 of us walked a way with only whip lash and a few bumps and bruises. I am especially grateful for the hands that watched over Teresa and that growing baby girl in her belly! Everyone was calm with the exception of ME of course as we waited for the police and tow truck to arrive. We now had the almost impossible task of finding away to transport us to LA on a Sunday were almost all car rentals were closed. I attempted to call for a cab when this showed up:
That little white car my friends...is what you call a cab company scam!!! After an hour of waiting, these 2 black girls show up from their so called "family owned cab company" to give us a ride. OR drop us on the side of the road at gun point and steal our luggage! haha Joking but that image did cross my mind as all of this was happening. Teresa began asking to see some kind of cab license or proof. I had a terrible feeling the whole time and insisted we not get in the car with them. Finally when Teres asked how they were going to charge us the woman explained that it was $100 dollar flat rate. NO THANKYOU! By this point our Tow truck driver came to the rescue and offered to give us a ride instead. He also had written down their license plate number to report the scam. Glad someone was looking out for us!
After a short bumpy ride on the floor of the tow truck we finally arrived at the Car Rental and picked up this beauty: ( Thanks Tui for dropping what you were doing to help us find a rental!)
THE BEACH CRUISER haha Yikes, But hey it did the trick and after a long 8 hour road trip we finally made it to Universal Studios!

We were all smiles once we had delicious mexican food in our bellies and made it just in time for the concert!

I am slightly in love with this 5'5 or (6'2) celebrity musician!  I'll do my best to post some video footage later!

After the concert the real madness began... Some how by the luck of "knowing the right people" My friends Tiffany, Marla, Ivorie and I were offered 4 backstage passes. Looking something like this:

Now that is what I call a GOLDEN TICKET!! We were escorted to the green room where we met and hung out with Bruno and his band. NBD! I was giddy the whole time and acting like a dumb school girl. Bruno ended up asking the 4 of us to continue the party at his hotel.
(  IT WASN'T LIKE THAT I PROMISE  haha)!!! That is when I realized my hotel room was directly across the hall!
A picture of his door from my room across the hall! Can you believe that? Small world.
Anyways the night consisted of crazy fun, dancing, personal performances/ interesting conversations of the Mormon, non-drinking/smoking, white girl from Salt Lake City Utah! I am grateful that I stood strong in my values and was hopefully able to give them a good perception of Mormons. That even though at first I seemed like the boring old "wonderbread" girl, I was still able to have fun and show a very non - judge mental side while not slipping under the peer pressures of the circumstance I was in! It was one of the most surreal, fun nights of my life. How often do you find your self having a face to face conversation with a celebrity crush? I spent the night pinching myself while secretly hoping I'd never wake up from this dream! We ended the night with a group huddle in the hall. Bruno sang "Stand by me" then kissed us all on the cheek before leaving. I haven't stopped smiling ever since. We left the tragic road trip with years of stories, memories for a lifetime, special family bonding moments, miracles and blessings to forever be grateful for, and 4 new pretty cool celebrity friends. One who may or may not have texted me tonight ;) haha what an experience! ps. a picture of my new friends to come!
Before heading home we stopped by the Santa Monica Pier to enjoy a little beach.

Thanks for the Adventure guys...I wouldn't have wanted to experience it with anyone else. Oh and thanks B for not letting us die so we could live to tell this story ;)

After the rain, the rainbow!

Life can be stormy and full of surprises. Sometimes I am humbled by the trails some have to endure. I wish I could lighten their load just a little. In times of turmoil it is hardest to remember that everything happens for a reason. However twisted that reason may seem in the present. It is then that grow closest to our Father in Heaven. This morning as I was looking for some light to share, my family's motto came to mind. "After the rain, the rainbow".  A simple sentence full of so much hope! As I read through "Stand a little taller" I came across this quote.

 Accentuate the Positive
Men are, that they might have joy
- 2 Nephi 2:25

"I am asking that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life we "accentuate the positive." I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good, that we still voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment virtue and effort." - Gordon B. Hinckley

This is probably one of the hardest things to do. Negativity just comes naturally. You don't really have to work to be negative. Being positive takes a conscious effort. But oh how much more enjoyable this roller coaster called life would be if we all tried a little harder to be a little more positive. Even when you feel like your drowning in the rain. I don't mean to preach. Really this post is for me, something I could really work on. Just some thoughts I wanted to share with my cyber journal. Hope you all have a wonderful week full of rainbows minus the rain ;)
