FOMO...YOLO


I found this article the other day in my Women's Health magazine. I loved it so much that I have decided to dedicate an entire post to it. It's something I believe myself along with a lot of people I know have or deal with to SOME degree.

Sometimes social media can bring unwanted negativity. We are always checking  what others are doing and we're so worried about posting what we're doing that we don't actually enjoy "it". We never really sit and be in the NOW. I am 100% guilty of this. Another harmful aspect is feeling left out, not good enough, or even envious of others. Sometimes to the point of resentment. We often feel the need to post something in return to lift our spirits or to remind us that our life is good or fun too in its own way. 
In the article it explains how to use FOMO in a more positive way. Maybe others photos or posts can inspire and motivate you. Maybe now you'll try harder to make it to the gym, or spend a night a with your siblings, or plan a fun vacation. We always have the choice of turning our negative thoughts into a positive.

 I was finding myself letting these social media's get me down rather than using them for good. I have taken this month off from Facebook for this reason exactly.
 It's been fun focusing more on what I'm doing and really enjoying the moment rather than what my next status should say. haha 
(hey you know we ALL do it)
 It's seriously been so refreshing..I may just keep it up!
On the flip side I realize how awesome these sites can be to help us stay connected with friends and family. Sometimes my favorite part of the day is checking instagram to see my cutest niece or catch up with old friends. I'm just glad I found this article to use as a reminder in times of envy or negativity to quickly switch my way of thinking. We should always be happy for the success or happiness of those around us. Other peoples money, or dream vacations, or marriage, or beautiful home, or body, or sense of fashion, or adorable child, or healthy home cooked meals, or fun hot date, or girls night, or dream job should only inspire us to live, love and dream BIGGER
After all YOLO....  (you only live once)
